This represents the next step for DC Advisory’s Infrastructure platform – advising for existing clients deploying capital into the US and bringing best practice expertise to domestic players – delivering a truly international footprint.
The Infrastructure team, comprising 70+ professionals across the UK and Europe, has been active for over a decade - in that time completing almost 150 transactions with a value of over $35bn, across Telecom Infrastructure, Transportation, Hybrid Infrastructure, Utilities & District Heating, Energy & Power, and Concession-based & Social Infrastructure.
Edwards will lead the US’ Infrastructure M&A effort, bringing nearly 30 years of Infrastructure experience to the firm, most recently at CIBC World Markets as Managing Director for Investment Banking & Equity. Anthony has worked in both the European and US markets, the latter for the last 20 years working as both an infrastructure investor for IFM and an advisor with RBS and CIBC.
Schofield will lead the US’ Infrastructure Debt Advisory effort after nearly a decade at BlackRock where she was a key part of their Infrastructure Debt platform and, prior to this, 7 years at Lloyds bank. She too has both European and US infrastructure experience.
Commenting on the announcement, Phillip Hyman, Neale Marvin & Andrew Congleton Infrastructure Managing Directors, DC Advisory UK, said: “As our core clients are deploying more and more capital in the US, a genuine US footprint and on the ground experience ensures we can continue to work with them as they expand their focus. Securing top local and industry talent Anthony and Hannah, who bring a wealth of expertise, means we can provide the same market leading Infrastructure advice to US based operators. An important next chapter for the team and business.”
Anthony Edwards, Infrastructure Managing Director, DC Advisory US, added: “I am really excited to be joining DC Advisory. The European Infrastructure team has an unparalleled reputation and being able to bring my deep US expertise to help establish the US footprint and emulate European success is an opportunity I am thrilled to take on.”
Hannah Schofield, Infrastructure Managing Director, DC Advisory US, commented: “Having worked with DC Advisory for many years I know how well respected the debt advisory franchise is in the market, on both sides of the Atlantic. To bring my experience of European and US infrastructure financing to sponsors and companies - and be at the forefront of the US infrastructure debt market evolution - is an incredible opportunity.”
Hiroki Ikeda, Global Head of M&A, Daiwa Securities, said, “Expanding DC Advisory’s Infrastructure capabilities into the US market is an important step in aligning our global PE focused businesses, to deliver a premier investment bank, globally.”
This marks the 20th and 21st senior hires for the international firm in the past 24 months, as DC Advisory, supported by shareholder Daiwa Securities Group. continues to invest in the acquisition of top talent across multiple sectors and product areas – bringing its total Managing Director count to 100+.
