Deal volumes and values for 2021 have returned well beyond those that were predicted in 2020. The surge in activity has been fuelled by growing investor and consumer confidence, driven by post-pandemic recovery, government intervention, and high levels of liquidity. This strong momentum will be carried into 2022, but it will not be a year of plain sailing.
