Process
- DC Advisory acted as exclusive financial advisor to Peinemann on the carve-out and ownership transition process
- Following a strategic review of the Peinemann business portfolio, the Container Handling business and related Ports Services activities were defined as non-core
- Several options were subsequently considered with the principal objective to further strengthen Peinemann's strategic market position for the benefit of all stakeholders involved
- As part of the exit process, DC Advisory provided comprehensive sell-side advisory services, including overall transaction design, preparing the related marketing materials, financial modelling and support to the ultimate negotiations of transaction documentation
Outcome
- Under the terms of the transaction, Konecranes will fully acquire the Container Handling and Port Services activities
- The acquisition aims to enable Konecranes to expand its footprint in the Benelux region, particularly in the Port of Rotterdam, enhance its product and services capabilities, and unlock operational synergies
- Completion of the acquisition is subject to customary approvals, and is expected in Q4 2024
- The transaction emphasizes DC Advisory’s distinctive value proposition by effectively combining local proximity with global sector expertise and access. An international team with representatives from Asia, France and UK supported the Benelux team
