DC Advisory advised AIAC on the sale of Eurofoil Paper Coating to AR Metallizing, a subsidiary of Nissha

Background

• Headquartered in Berlin, Eurofoil Paper Coating is as a leading European manufacturer of tobacco packaging, having built a comprehensive portfolio of innerliners encompassing laminated, metallised and pure slitted and coated paper products
• Eurofoil Paper Coating employs c.170 people and generated sales of €55m in 2018. It benefits from a strong asset base with highly automated equipment, including water-based lacquering and metallising lines, which are among some of the fastest in the world

Process

• DC Advisory was appointed by AIAC to run a restricted auction process to sell Eurofoil Paper Coating

Outcome

• Following this process, Belgium-based AR Metallizing, a subsidiary of Japanese corporate Nissha Group, signed an agreement for the acquisition of Eurofoil Paper Coating
• Eurofoil Paper Coating will be fully integrated into AR Metallizing and eventually rebranded under its new owner's brand name
• This transaction, which is still subject to competition authorities’ approval, illustrates DC Advisory’s expertise in cross-border transactions and further strengthens its aluminium and packaging industry knowledge
