DC Advisory advised AppRiver on its sale to Zix Corporation

DC US, a leading investment banking firm, acted as a co-advisor to its client AppRiver, a leading provider of cloud-based cybersecurity solutions, on its agreement to be acquired by Zix Corporation (NASDAQ:ZIX) for $275 million.

The combination will create a leading cloud-based email security provider to the small and midsize business market with over $180M of annual recurring revenue.

Zix is a leader in email security, delivering an improved experience and easy-to-use solutions for email encryption and data loss prevention, advanced threat protection, unified information archiving and bring your own device mobile security.

This is the third transaction on which DC Advisory’s Cybersecurity team advised AppRiver. Prior to this acquisition, DC US advised AppRiver on its acquisition by Marlin Equity Partners, a global investment firm with over $6.7 billion of capital under management, and in October 2018, DC Advisory advised AppRiver on its acquisition of Total Defense.
