DC Advisory advised Dowa Holdings Co. Ltd on the acquisition of Modern Asia Environmental Holdings Inc

DC Advisory (DC) exclusively advised Dowa Holdings Co., Ltd. (Dowa) on the acquisition of Modern Asia Environmental Holdings Inc. (MAEH), an operator of four waste management and disposal facilities across Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.

MAEH operates four waste management and disposal facilities:

• Indonesia: Owns a landfill facility, waste oil and liquid treatment facilities at one location, conducting solid and liquid waste treatment, waste disposal, fuel recycling, soil remediation, purification, and other businesses. It is the only company in Indonesia that possesses a permit for the disposal of hazardous waste
• Thailand: Owns two facilities locations; one is incineration, and the other is a landfill facility. There are only two incineration facilities for waste in Thailand, and this is one of the two
• Singapore: Operates incineration, waste treatment, distillation, and recycling businesses at a single location

The acquisition provided an immediate expansion of landfill capacity for Dowa of more than 10 million cubic meters.

Through the acquisition, Dowa was able to replicate MAEH’s successful business model and tap-in to the growth potential of Southeast Asia.

The acquisition of MAEH allowed Dowa to immediately commence waste management, soil remediation and recycling businesses in three major Southeast Asian countries Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.
