Boston, MA, March 12, 2008 – Public Consulting Group (PCG) today announced it has acquired Eclipse Solutions, an information technology (IT) consulting firm focused on the public sector. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1996 and based in Sacramento, CA, Eclipse specializes in helping state and local governments manage their IT resources, including project management, project oversight, technology architecture, management consulting, and infrastructure support services.
“Eclipse’s expertise is a great strategic fit with our extensive management consulting experience with state and local health, human services, and other government agencies,” said Bill Mosakowski, President and CEO of PCG. “The combination of Eclipse’s expertise in IT management and PCG’s in-depth knowledge of state and local government operations will greatly benefit our public clients as they strive to make best use of available funds to maximize the services provided to their client populations.”
Over ten years ago, John Willis, CEO of Eclipse Solutions, recognized that California state agencies were facing significant challenges in effectively implementing the IT solutions needed to make their programs more effective and efficient. He saw how California’s size and complexity made its IT efforts high-risk and extraordinarily difficult. To address these challenges, Willis brought together very senior staff from both the private and government sectors. The company’s continuous contribution to its clients’ successes has led Eclipse to become a trusted advisor for state government in California and the Pacific Northwest.
“We look forward to joining PCG and continuing to grow our capabilities and depth,” said Willis. “We’re pleased to be joining a firm that is as committed as we are to building lasting relationships with clients.”
