• IBIDEN is a Japanese electronics company headquartered in Ogaki, and is the parent company of IBIDEN Ceram GmbH (Ceram)
• Ceram is an Austrian-based technical ceramics manufacturer, and is one of the world's leading suppliers of industrial honeycomb ceramics, honeycomb and plate catalysts, and non-catalytic honeycomb ceramics for regenerative thermal processes

Process

• DC Advisory (DC) was engaged by IBIDEN to evaluate strategic options and provide advice on the sale of Ceram
• DC worked closely with the shareholder and management team to orchestrate a competitive and complex process
• Following comprehensive preparations, DC carried out a tailor-made process within a limited time frame

Outcome

• In March 2022, Ceram was acquired by Core Value Capital, an Austrian private equity fund
• Core Value Capital will support Ceram in its future growth path, and provide funds to further diversify the product portfolio
• Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed
