DC Advisory advised London Stock Exchange Group on the acquisition of Mergent Inc.

DC Advisory* acted as financial advisor to London Stock Exchange Group (“LSEG”) on its acquisition of Mergent, Inc. (“Mergent”). LSEG is an international markets infrastructure business that focuses on capital formation, intellectual property and risk and balance sheet management. Mergent is a leading independent provider of proprietary business and financial data on over 90,000 public and private companies in 120 countries.

Mergent had been owned by Carousel Capital since 2008, and was previously owned by Xinhua Finance. Mergent will form part of LSEG’s Information Services Division, which includes FTSE Russell, a worldwide leader in the provision of investment decision tools, and a provider of financial indexing, benchmarking and analytic services with ~$10 trillion benchmarked to its indexes.

The acquisition of Mergent will support the growth of FTSE Russell’s core index offering, especially in the creation of factor-based, passive investment products.
