Background

• C.C. Group (the company) was founded in 1969 and continuously expanded into slag and mineral waste disposal and processing. The company entered the filter dust disposal business in 1996 by acquiring a minority shareholding in a disposal mine in Bleicherode
• Today, C.C. Group has developed into a solution provider for waste incineration plants with a market leading position in Germany
• Novum Capital acquired C.C. Group in January 2018. Novum Capital subsequently successfully improved the company’s profitability and provided significant funding for investments in new state of the art machinery
• C.C. Group’s management team, headed by Dieter Kersting (CEO), Roberto Grau (COO) and Robert Murmann (CFO), is fully committed to further expanding the company’s leading market position
• DC Advisory advised Novum Capital on the recapitalisation of C.C. Group, the leading specialty waste management company in Germany for slag and filter dust disposal, servicing the waste incineration industry
• The company operates across four sites in Germany which are situated in Krefeld, Hagen, Würzburg and Schwandorf

Process

• DC Advisory ran a competitive financing process with a selected number of senior banks and debt funds, and secured an attractive financing package with Kartesia and Deutsche Bank
• The financing package not only allows for the recapitalisation, but also supports C.C. Group’s operational financing, including guarantees and working capital requirements, and fully supports the company’s expansion plan with an additional capex facility
• During and beyond the execution phase, DC Advisory not only advised Novum Capital, but always ensured that the management team was taken alongside on its first LBO financing
