DC Advisory advised OMYA on its joint venture with PT United Chemicals Inter Aneka

DC Advisory (DC) exclusively advised OMYA AG (OMYA) on its joint venture with PT United Chemicals Inter Aneka (United Chemicals) which involved the acquisition of a 60% stake in United Chemicals.

OMYA, established over 125 years ago, is a family-run, leading global chemical distributor and producer of industrial minerals. Based in Switzerland, OMYA’s major markets are food, nutraceuticals, personal care, the paper, plastics, paint/coatings/adhesives, construction industries as well as agriculture and environment.

OMYA employs approximately 7,000 staff worldwide and operates some 100 production facilities in over 50 countries.

The deal allows OMYA to strengthen its growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region and demonstrate full commitment to building a solid global specialty chemical distribution network.

United Chemicals is a private chemical distributor of specialty and partially commodity chemicals. The company connects chemical producers and their industrial users in the food, water treatment, rubber, personal care, paints, and coatings markets. Founded in 1983, United Chemicals operates from its headquarters in Jakarta, distributing from three warehouses in the territory.

United Chemicals has a highly complementary business model to OMYA’s, and provides OMYA with a strong platform for future growth in the large and rapidly growing Indonesian and Asia-Pacific specialty chemical distribution markets.
