DC Advisory acted as exclusive M&A advisor to VINCI Energies, part of the French listed construction and infrastructure group VINCI S.A. (“VINCI”), on the acquisition of Horlemann Group (“Horlemann”), a leading electrical grid service provider in the North-Western area of Germany.
Horlemann, based in the Ruhr region and in the Berlin area (Germany), has been family-owned since 1933. Horlemann is specialised in engineering, construction and maintenance of electrical grids, lighting operations and automation processes dedicated to medium and low voltage electrical grids. Horlemann generates turnover of c. € 100 million and has a workforce of nearly 600 people. The acquisition of Horlemann will expand VINCI’s presence into attractive regions that were previously not covered. At the same time Vinci is increasing its exposure to the rapidly growing German renewable energy market which is spurring the demand by grid operators for electrical services in relation to grid extensions and renewals.
Yves Meignié, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of VINCI Energies, commented on the transaction: "Horlemann will reinforce our position on the German market in regions where we are not yet active, and develop expertise on new markets ahead regarding renewable energies. It reinforces our brand Omexom, which stands for 20% of VINCI Energies’ turnover, as a major player in the European market."
The transaction has been successfully closed on 30 November 2017.
