Background

  • Southern Dental Alliance (SDA), a leading Dental Services Organization (DSO) in the Southeast, provides support services to its network of almost 40 dental clinics that deliver high-quality general dentistry and orthodontic services
  • Vital Smiles is comprised of two large pediatric and orthodontic-focused dental practices primarily serving the Medicaid population in greater Atlanta (Norcross, GA) and in south Georgia (Albany, GA)
  • SDA divested two non-core dental practice groups (Zoo Crew and Vital Smiles) in two separate transactions
    • Feb 2024: SDA divested its Zoo Crew clinics (four locations in the Nashville, TN market) in a sale to Lone Peak Dental Group
    • Jan 2025: SDA divested Vital Smiles clinics (two locations in Georgia) in a sale to Lone Peak Dental Group
