DC Advisory Rock Rail and SL Capital on the financing for the Abellio East Anglia franchise

Abellio was recently awarded the new nine year East Anglia rail franchise (that starts on Sunday 16th October) by the Department for Transport.

DC Advisory (DC) was mandated to provide debt advice to the consortium.

DC supported Rock throughout the process and through the volatile market conditions post Brexit.

DC ran a focused process engaging across a number of detailed work streams in working with a group of long-dated institutional funders to achieve an optimal financing outcome, as well as leading the overall execution protocol.

DC delivered a highly attractive debt package which was a fundamental element in ensuring the consortium was selected as the preferred bidder, including a fully documented, certain funds package to allow the closing of the transaction on 4th October 2016.

A fully underwritten senior financing package with competitive infrastructure terms and pricing was signed with a group of five institutional investors; Aviva Investors, Legal & General, Standard Life, Barings Asset Management and SunLife.
