India remained the world's fastest-growing major economy; however, a less forgiving macro backdrop led public markets to reprice, reassessing the premium investors were willing to pay for growth.
The country has moved from a single trade to a stock-picker’s market, where the question is no longer “Is India attractive?” but “Is this business attractive, at this price, with these liquidity prospects?”.
In this report, DC Advisory's India's senior bankers explore the key drivers shaping the country's public and private markets, fundraising, exits and investor activity, and provide outlook for the next 12 months.

India remains the world's fastest-growing major economy
India remained the world's fastest-growing major economy in FY2025-26, with real GDP growth accelerating to 7.7% in FY2025-26 from 7.1% in FY2024-254, supported by sustained monetary easing through 20255 and broad-based domestic momentum. That trend broke in early 2026 with rising geopolitical tensions and higher inflation expectations6 - GDP growth rate is now expected to moderate to 6.6% in FY2026-277. Looking ahead, the recently concluded India- UK FTA8 and the India-EU FTA9 can deepen trade integration with developed markets and may support export-oriented mid-market companies, subject to implementation timing and sector-level tariff outcomes.
