Background

• INALAN is a fast growing, full-fibre internet service provider, deploying a proprietary network in Greece’s two largest metropolitan areas, Athens and Thessaloniki
• Fiera Infrastructure (Fiera) is a leading investor across all subsectors of the infrastructure asset class
• In 2018, DC Advisory (DC) advised Fiera on its acquisition of IslaLink, a Spain-based independent fibre company. IslaLink is building the IONIAN system, a submarine and terrestrial fibre route that will link Athens, Greece with Milan, Italy

Process

• DC was engaged by Fiera to provide M&A advice on its growth capital investment in INALAN
• DC contributed to several detailed work streams throughout the investment process including business plan formulation and analysis, financial modelling and valuation, drafting investment committee materials as well as advising on transaction documentation including the Investment Agreement and Shareholders’ Agreement

Outcome

• In May 2022, Fiera announced its growth capital investment in INALAN
• With the backing of Fiera, INALAN, led by its experienced management team, will pursue an ambitious growth strategy to reach a network footprint of 1.6 million homes passed
• This transaction demonstrates DC’s ongoing expertise in the telecom infrastructure sector and strengthens the firm’s track record in advising on fibre transactions across Europe
