- Wescom was originally a corporate carve-out of the Drew Marine group, constituting approximately 20% of the conglomerate prior to Sun European Partners, LLP’s (Sun European) acquisition in February 2020
- Sun European is a leading private investment advisory firm, focused on partnering with outstanding management teams to accelerate value creation
- Albion River is a private direct investment firm focused on acquiring companies that produce highly technical defence products and services

- DC Advisory was exclusively engaged by Sun European to provide sell-side M&A and debt advice to support the sale of Wescom
- DC Advisory ran a tailored process, leveraging its sector expertise and senior relationships to identify and engage a competitive transatlantic bidder group capable of supporting Wescom’s organic and acquisitive growth strategy
- DC Advisory provided comprehensive M&A and debt advisory services, including bespoke lender education, process strategy and tactics, sector insight, and close support in negotiation and transaction documentation
Outcome
- The transaction signed in Q1 2025 and Albion River completed the acquisition of Wescom on 31 July 2025
- With the support of Albion River, the business will focus on both organic and acquisitive growth in markets which have compelling long-term growth dynamics
