DC Advisory advises Arjun Infrastructure Partners on the acquisition of an additional stake in Bigadan

Background

• Bigadan is a leading Danish renewable energy platform that transforms organic waste including, manure, food industry by-products, and industrial organic waste products into biogas for renewable energy, and fertilizers
• With over 40 years of operational experience, Bigadan owns nine operational biogas facilities producing around 1.3 TWh of renewable energy annually, with plans to increase output to over 2 TWh by 2027
• Operating under long-term feed-in-tariffs, Bigadan plays a central role in Denmark’s circular bioeconomy while also providing engineering and operational expertise to third-party partners
• Arjun Infrastructure Partners is a European mid-market infrastructure manager with €6.4bn assets under management across digital, renewables, transport, and utilities sectors. Arjun acquired a large minority share in Bigadan in 2021 

Process

• DC Advisory acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Arjun on its acquisition of an additional stake in Bigadan
• DC Advisory provided M&A advice to Arjun throughout the investment process, including review and formulation of the business plan, financial modeling and valuation, and assistance in the drafting of investment committee materials

Outcome

• In October 2025, Arjun, via its Infrastructure Alliance Europe 3 fund, completed the acquisition of an additional stake in Bigadan
• Under Arjun’s majority ownership, Bigadan plans to expand its platform through the development of carbon capture facilities and the conversion of two additional plants from combined heat and power (CHP) generation to grid injection
