Hoong Wey launches the UK’s Real Estate offering, complementing DC Advisory’s established European franchise (including Borja Leria (Spain) and Maxime Leclercq (France)), and bringing with him considerable M&A, capital raise and debt experience in the space.
Hoong Wey also brings with him substantial expertise across Healthcare Real Assets, strengthening the firm’s UK Healthcare offering led by James Pople, and joining recent senior US hires Manish Gupta, Rich Blann and Hector Torres as part of the global Healthcare franchise. Woon’s Hospitality expertise will also complement UK Managing Director Nam Quach’s Consumer, Leisure & Retail franchise. His experience in the restructuring market adds to the credentials of existing UK restructuring franchise led by Justin Holland.
His team includes Max Hagelstein, formerly a Director at Rivercrown Group and Matthew Craythorne formerly Deloitte. Hoong Wey, formerly Head of Real Estate & Hospitality at Alantra, joins the firm with over 20 years’ experience, during which time he has completed over 100 transactions totalling approximately £10bn, including M&A, capital raise and debt advice.
High-profile and complex transactions include:
- Establishing a £1bn Build To Rent vehicle for Godwin Developments with a leading North American private equity firm;
- Sale of Balhousie Care Group to AcalisCare for £111m;
- Raising and refinancing £200m of debt for Oakland Care a Synova Capital backed Elderly Care developer and operator;
- Acquisition of the housebuilder Be Living for EcoWorld; and
- Sale of Boxpark to LDC
